Here's what a pinch of turmeric on a daily basis can do for the brain and memory

Researchers at Monash University in Melbourne , Australia , conducted a study that was published in the Asia-Pacific Journal of Clinical Nutrition. They found that daily consumption of a gram of turmeric powder provides short-term memory improvement.

“Our results with turmeric are consistent with these observations as it appears to affect cognitive function where there is disordered energy metabolism and insulin resistance,” said researcher Mark Wohlquist .

Turmeric is used as a spice and is the basis of traditional Asian cuisine and healing therapies.

“We found that this modest breakfast supplement improved working memory within six hours in older adults with prediabetes,” Wolkvist explained.

The study included adults aged 60 years and over who had recently been diagnosed with prediabetes but were not receiving any therapy. Diabetes is usually associated with memory loss.
