How to wash white socks easily
Method 1:
White socks are easier to wash if they are soaked in a solution of boric acid before washing: 1 tablespoon of acid per 1 liter of warm water. Soak socks for 1-2 hours in this solution. Then , rinse thoroughly and send to the machine , or wash by hand.
Socks are best washed in the machine , on a full wash cycle for cotton , at a temperature of 40 or 60 degrees.
Method 2:
Lemon is an old sock wash. Lemon juice is widely used to remove stains not only from white socks , but also from various light-colored cotton fabrics.
Apply lemon when washing white socks like this:
- You can put socks in a basin and pour warm water ( but not hot!), Adding a few drops of lemon. Leave it soaked for a while. Then wash by hand or in the machine.
- If soaking in "lemon water" doesn't help , then you can try squeezing lemon juice directly onto the stain and then rubbing bleach ( or any laundry detergent) on white fabrics with your fingers. After rubbing a little with your hands , immediately put in the washing machine with other white things.
- If the socks are not synthetic , then they must withstand high temperatures. You can put them to boil.
- Put a pot of water on the fire , in which you need to boil , for several minutes , a few slices of lemon. Then , put socks into this water , and some washing powder. Boil over low heat for about 10 minutes.
- It should be noted that woolen socks should not be boiled. It is better to wash them in lukewarm water , wring out a lump and dry on a horizontal surface.
- When rinsing white linen and light socks , you can add half a cup of baking soda to the machine , and then another quarter during the cycle itself.
Wash white socks and whites more often than any colored ones. White socks should be washed after every wear.
